Teacher: join online course that will give fresh overview of EU

Date created 12.01.2026

Preparing learners to become active European citizens is more important today than ever before.

We believe that every teacher, regardless of subject, can address the European Union and European values in their lessons. To do this, it is necessary to refresh previously acquired knowledge about the EU from time to time.

We invite you to join a free online course that you can complete flexibly at your own pace.

The selection of topics provides a fresh and systematic overview of the EU’s role and European values, and helps you find ways to integrate European themes into your teaching.

The course is fully online and includes:

  • 2 complete modules
  • 14 video lectures
  • learning materials
  • interactive tests
  • a certificate upon completion

The course has been developed by the University of Trento in Italy. It has already been piloted in six vocational schools and tested by more than 40 teachers.

By the end of the course, you will be able to explain how European institutions function, describe the main EU policies, and use innovative teaching methods to engage learners in topics related to European integration.

All teachers from general education schools and vocational schools who wish to link the European Union and European citizenship topics with their teaching are invited to participate.

The course has been developed within the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project EUCLASS Alliance. Kuressaare Ametikool is a project partner together with vocational schools from Italy, Finland, Greece, the Netherlands, and Spain.
